  • Broken Photos by Mikael Colville-Andersen

    Broken Photos

Sometimes the photographer fails the subject. The settings are wrong, the exposure is off, the focus is skewed. Mikael has kept his “broken photos”, instead of discarding them, since they possess a fragility and beauty. As though the photographs insist on existing, despite their flaws. See more of this series at Visit Coolville on Instagram.

    Bike Life / Cycle Chic

Mikael started the Cycle Chic movement back in 2006 with a blog that achieved global recognition - Copenhagen Cycle Chic. It led to numerous exhibitions and books. This is the link to the blog and this is the official Cycle Chic on Instagram.

Mikael makes no secret of the fact that street photography is his preferred photography genre, but he does have a series of portraits of colleagues, friends, family and others.

    Viking Biking

This sub-genre of Mikael’s larger body of work of people cycling in cities is a direct reply to the flawed statement, “people won’t ride bikes in the winter“. You can follow the Viking Biking Instagram account, updated regularly during the winter.

    Fashion

Mikael has worked extensively in the fashion and lifestyle genres of photography and on series of his own design.
