Danish Urban Design & Bicycle-Friendly Cities

Showing in Cahors: May 2022 // Rennes: June 2022 // Dunkirk: July/August 2022

Curator: Mikael Colville-Andersen

Graphic Design: Olivia Fisker

Between 18 June - 19 September, 2021, Mikael curated the Aux vélos, citoyens ! exhibition at the Danish Cultural Centre in Paris - Le Bicolore / Maison du Danemark. Meaning “To Your Bikes, Citizens!“, it is a comprehensive exhibition highlighting all the necessary elements for designing a bicycle-friendly city, based on Mikael’s long experience as an urban designer around the world.

The exhibition is French-language and is set to continue it’s journey to other French cities after Paris. If you’re interested in getting the exhibition in your city, feel free to use the contact form here on the website.

The exhibition space at Le Bicolore in Paris is 172 m2, but Mikael has designed it so that it can fit into smaller venues. There are some elements that are exclusive to the Paris exhibition but by and large, most can travel. All the boards feature comprehensive graphics and certain physical elements.

If the exhibition travels to another country, all the graphics are ready to translated into the local language. The graphics are adhesives, which are placed on the boards. The physical structure of the boards will need to be built, but the design is complete and ready to be constructed for new markets and venues.
